Bed Push in aid of Kilimanjaro Challenge
FOUR local men are planning the summit attempt of Mount Kilimanjaro next year to raise funds for BCFC Academy in Kitale, Kenya. Not only do Irwin Holmes, Stephen Fletcher, James McConaghie and Kenny Moore face the challenge of the climb, changeable environment and high altitude, they are hoping to generate funds for various building projects at the Academy.
The institution in the West Pokot district of North-West Kenya provides nursery, primary and secondary education to over 530 local children.
As part of their fundraising efforts they are holding a bed push event through Coleraine this Saturday (December 8) and would like the support of the public and businesses alike for this great cause. The men have already raised around £4,600.
Irwin and Stephen would like to thank local businesses who have already pledged their support, McAuley Kitchens, Derek Archibald Vehicle Repairs, SJ McAuley Engineering, Sam Creith Motors, Mathewson Chemist, JF Car Sales, Eddie Torrens Importers and Distributors, Robert H Gault menswear and Deadlyfingers
If a business would like to help the men can in return give free advertising on their website for at least a year where members of the public can also keep up to date with their fundraising events and training schedule ( www.kilimanjaro2008.co.uk)
