A very inexperienced trekker, until this year the highest thing I've ever climbed was the stairs, but thanks to Irwin Holmes sneaking up on my blind side, I now find myself on my way to Kilimanjaro. Irwin introduced me to my first climb which was in The Glens of Antrim, the combination of good friends, fantastic scenery and clean fresh air hooked me instantly.

The decision to commit myself to this trip was not taken lightly, my level of fitness, aches and pains, fundraising, getting time off work and especially being away from my family during the trek are all hurdles that have to be overcome.

A huge challenge now lies ahead but with God's help and if the encouragement, backing and response I've had so far is anything to go by, I believe this will be a very successful mission and the adventure of a lifetime.
