Initially when Stephen came up with the idea of climbing Kilimanjaro, I was intrigued but didn’t accept the challenge. I am very much an outdoor person as you will see from my interests, Clay pigeons in the summer, game in the winter and between walking, hunting and training the dogs (2 Springers and 1 Cocker spaniel), trying to get out on the mountain bike and the odd trip on the motorbike, it’s a busy life.

Joining the group late, I have a lot of catching up to do, but the fellowship with the rest of the guys is a great source of encouragement and all that remains to do is get as much fundraising and training done between now and the trek in November.

Having seen the latest DVD of the BCFC Academy in Katale, it has laid a burden on my heart to do something that will benefit the promotion of the gospel in and amongst those that are less well off than ourselves and so willing to receive the message. The joy that radiates and illuminates the faces of the children is such an encouragement and we must do all we can to help the workers that have gave of themselves in full time service to this very needy work of love.
